Allen Iverson – “The Q-n-A”

Encore Kicks L.L.C. would like to introduce the “Q -n- A” sneaker.

In circa 1994 a young kid out of Bethel High School located in Hampton, VA. was not only considered the best high school basketball player in the country but many believe at that time to also be the best or one of the best high school football players in the country.

That individual goes by the name of Allen Ezail Iverson!

But, there was always this question, “does Allen Iverson deserve an opportunity to play at a D-1 school”?

At that time many people within that community did not believe he should have that opportunity but there was one person very near and dear to him that has always been a constant in his life.

Through her as well as those who supported Allen made countless efforts to meet at that time Gov. Douglas Wilder. After 4 months in Newport Prison, Gov. Wilder granted Allen Iverson clemency due to insufficient evidence which meant he should have never been convicted in the first place.

By that time many D-1 schools had dropped out of the recruitment of Iverson but by grace and that one person very near and dear to him placed a call to Georgetown University’s Coach John Thompson. Through having a great support system, Iverson was given a chance to enroll and showcase his skills on the hardwood and as they say……”THE REST IS HISTORY”!

Based off the iconic AJ 13 platform these designs encompass the many questions as to whether Allen even deserved an opportunity and at the same time the “Q -n- A” sneaker gives you “The Answer”…..literally!

Through Allen Iverson’s hard work and the commitment to learning his craft this 2001 NBA MVP, 11 time All Star, and 2016 inductee into the prestigious Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame solidified his career which almost never came to fruition.

The “Q -n- A” sneaker is paying homage to Allen Iverson a.k.a. “The Answer” as well as giving credit to that very near and dear person, Coach John Thompson, and the Association for allowing the world to see greatness on the hardwood night in and night out.
